Legion II Augustus was formed by Octavian in 43 BC. In 9 AD after the destruction of the three Varus Roman legions in the Teutoburg Forest, legion was sent to Germany, in a camp located in Moguntiaka area (modern. Mainz). In '15 the legion took part in the campaign of Germanicus, which were buried 25 thousand.
